Back Roads Bar & Grill
Our Clubhouse offers a beautiful place to unwind after an invigorating day in the Field. Relax in front of the fire or have a seat at the bar. There is always lively conversation about dogs, past and present, guns and birds, and a beer or cocktail to cap off a perfect day. Our dining room offers something for everyone and the surroundings are comfortable and inviting. Check out our mouth watering menu and stay for a meal.
Hunting at Wings North
Wings North has 12 different hunting areas and can safely accommodate up to 50 hunters in the area at one time. The diverse cover and relatively flat topography of the club allow us to provide a tremendous variety for all different types of hunters and uniquely different hunting experiences.
All of our hunting areas are large and give the hunting groups plenty of room to move around. You may bring as many people as you like for hunting. We do ask that you limit your hunting groups to no more than 5 people per hunting area. This is to provide safety and quality for every hunter.
Our hunting areas are intentionally kept as close to nature's own, except that the availability of game is more plentiful. We give both the hunter and the hunted an opportunity.
All members and their guests are welcome to bring and use well-trained hunting dogs at Wings North. If you don't have one, we can provide hunting dogs and guides for the convenience and safety of your party. When making your reservations, please specify if you would like to reserve a dog and guide.
Hunt Club Regulations
ARRANGEMENTS FOR A HUNT
Reservations for a hunt must be made 24 hours in advance. Please try to book your hunts as far in advance as possible, and give us as many details about your group (this will help us make your day an experience instead of a trip).
When making reservations be specific as to
- DATE,
- TIME,
- NUMBER AND TYPES OF BIRDS TO BE LIBERATED,
- IF YOUR GROUP WILL NEED A GUIDE AND DOG,
- ALSO, RESERVATIONS WILL NEED TO BE CONFIRMED WITH AN CREDIT CARD NUMBER FOR NON-MEMBERS.
Please call (320) 629-4868 to make reservations. If hunts are not canceled, or if you don’t show up for the hunt once the birds are liberated we will bill your account. If it is necessary to cancel a hunt, we will give you a cancellation number.
DOGS & HANDLERS
All hunters are encouraged to bring and use their own hunting dogs. It is important to bring only well trained dogs. Arrangements can be made through the club to use a guide with a well trained dog, for the safety and convenience of the hunting party. There is a fee for the dog and handler per hunt.
CHECK IN REQUIREMENTS
All hunters are required to check in at the clubhouse. All hunters are required to sign in on the hunter logbook (This is state law). All non-member hunters are required to sign appropriate liability waivers. Every hunter entering the field must wear blaze orange. A minimum of a hat is okay. Safety glasses and nontoxic shot are required for all hunters. All hunters are required to check out at the clubhouse before leaving Wings North.
BIRD CLEANING
If you wish you may take your bird’s home with feathers on, to clean as you like. All birds leaving the grounds with feathers on must be properly tagged for transport. If you wish you may trade your cleanly shot birds for shot pre-cleaned, frozen, packaged birds for $3.00 per bird ($4.00 Daily Members). We will not accept SBR’s (Shot beyond recognition) for cleaning. Wings north also offers smoked pheasant’s (Call for current price).
SPORTING CLAYS/TRAP
Wings North has two sporting clay courses and also has a trap range The cost for sporting clays is $20.00 for a round of fifty for annual members. Non members pay $22.00 for a fifty bird round. The cost for trap is $8. Ask about our money saver punch cards.
SHOOTING LESSONS
Wings North has an NSCA (National Sporting Clays Association) certified Instructor available upon request. Shooting lessons are available through the club at all times. Please call the club for availability of times for lessons. Lessons are $50.00 per hour plus targets.
DRINK POLICY
Wings North has a liquor license, so members and their guest are not allowed to bring their own beer, soda, and liquor into the clubhouse area. All beverages need to be purchased at the clubhouse. NO shooting will happen after you have consumed alcohol.
TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP OR HUNTING PRIVILEGES
The management reserves the right to refuse any hunter and his guests the right to hunt, because of unsportsmanlike conduct.
